President

I started in cable before I could drive, from age of 14 I would spend time on spring break and summer vacation working for a company called Glass Antenna and Satellites based in Greencastle Indiana. The company was owned by my Grandparents and the Lead technician was my uncle. I was mostly just an extra set of hands, but as I got older, I was given more responsibility. In 1999 I graduated High School and worked full time that summer for my grandparents. I was given more responsibilities each year, most of that summer was spent in the small cable systems that my grandfather had built. We did everything in house. If there was no work on the cable side, we would put up Satellite dishes and master antenna systems. We sold and serviced all makes and brands of dishes and antennas along with maintaining the small cable systems. I loved the work, but I wasn’t sure what the future held working for my grandparents.

In the middle of the summer of 1999, I applied at several different companies and landed a job with Comcast Cable in Indianapolis. I started my career as a service technician in August of 1999. I quickly knew I wanted to be part of the Network Maintenance Team. I was able to quickly move up and secure a spot as Tech One. I was eventually moved from Tech One to a Network Tech a couple years later. For close to 15 years, I worked as a technician, I was privileged to work in several different states during storm recoveries, as well as multiple different systems to assist in upgrades and special projects. In January of 2016 I was promoted to Network Supervisor. I was responsible for the day-to-day operations on the West Side of Indianapolis and had 16 direct reports. It was quite the transition for me, and I was met with many hurdles.

In 2016 I was asked to become part of the Central Indiana Chapter SCTE. Immediately I was voted an officer position as Secretary. It was way out of my comfort zone, but it was also pivotal in my career growth. I’ve since held numerous roles in the Chapter. I get to work with like-minded people, solving problems, and train upcoming technicians. I currently sit on the Central Indiana Board as President, along with a national role on the CLC sub-committee. In Late April 2020 I was able to again progress my career within Comcast, accepting a position as Senior Manager of Network Maintenance. I am currently still in this position managing the daily operations of 60 technicians and 5 supervisors across Central and southern Indiana, as well as several systems in Kentucky. I am very proud to be part of both Comcast and SCTE. I am thankful for the opportunities it has given me, as well as the incredible people I have met along the way.
